Information About the Department of Arts and Cultural Management
The Department of Arts and Cultural Management offers a four-year undergraduate program designed to enable students to understand and evaluate the processes involved in identifying, managing, and presenting works of art to the public. This program covers the theoretical and practical definition of works of art, the management of arts institutions, exhibition methods, and promotion, communication, and marketing strategies. Consequently, the program aims to cultivate individuals who can facilitate communication between artists and exhibition spaces in art galleries and museums; apply contemporary exhibition methods in these venues; take on responsibilities at biennials, triennials, and art fairs; design sets and costumes; work in desktop publishing; and possess the potential to become skilled art critics.
Mission
To train individuals who are knowledgeable about all art disciplines, have a strong understanding of art history, follow national and international art institutions, understand their operations and management, and work with a commitment to artistic, cultural, material, and spiritual concerns in the roles they undertake—individuals who are familiar with the applications of visual arts in art galleries, biennials, triennials, art fairs, and museums; are responsible for visual design in the performing arts such as theater, opera, and ballet; can plan designs at advertising agencies; and are capable of taking on roles at festivals and events.
Vision
To be a program of choice in the field of arts management through its projects and practices.
