Information About the Department of Graphic Design
The Department of Graphic Design, a four-year undergraduate program that admits students through a special aptitude exam, is structured to develop our students’ creative abilities and enable them to specialize in the fields of print media and digital design. We believe our students, with their aesthetic and functional designs, will contribute to raising the current standards of graphic design in our country. Upon successfully completing the program, they will be able to work as graphic designers, design managers, or design consultants in the advertising industry, design firms, and various public and private sector institutions, or they will be able to produce work in freelance art and design settings.
Mission
As the Bachelor’s Program in Graphic Design, which admitted its first students through a special aptitude exam in the 2019–2020 academic year, our mission is—drawing on Yıldız Technical University’s long-standing and high-quality educational philosophy— to train graphic designers who are adaptable to the dynamics of the modern era, competent in both theory and practice, possess an inquisitive and innovative mindset, and can use visual language accurately and effectively, while also possessing a solid general cultural foundation.
Vision
Our vision is to be a pioneering Bachelor’s Program in Graphic Design that has proven itself at both the national and international levels in the fields of education, scientific research, theory, and practice.
